A studio specializing in geek-oriented quilting projects. (That's not all we do, but it is a part of our lives!). We aim to misbehave in terms of quilting - we believe that anyone can learn, and everyone has their own style. We strive for inclusion, not exclusion. So bring your fandom and your quilting supplies, and hang out!
Not So Geeky Projects
This is where we stash our not-so-geeky projects...
Like this one - Texas Hill Country Improv Pieced Quilt. Each of the 12 blocks is a look at pieces of the Texas Hill Country, or different times in the Hill Country. There is a block for my hometown - San Antonio, down in the bottom right corner, with the Riverwalk and the bright colors of Mexican influences.
Fredricksburg is third down in the first column - with all the thins that mean that town to me: bats (for the colonies of bats), peaches, anchors and rope for the Admiral Nimitz Museum (definitely worth a trip! Go here to see more! http://www.pacificwarmuseum.org/)
The upper left corner is the Hill Country in full bloom, with all the wildflowers at their brightest.
And so it goes... this quilt isn't geeky, but it means something. It's a quilted memory of multiple trips through the Hill Country, a tangible reminder of the peace and comfort I feel when I pass through.
